Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
she/her/hers
I take a special interest in maternal mental health, specifically fertility challenges and loss. I also see individuals in my office for the following:
I specialize in the treatment of adults and older teens suffering from anxiety and dealing with issues of grief and loss. I am trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy and EMDR, two evidence based treatments used in the management of symptoms of PTSD and trauma, as well as other distressing life events. With an increased focus on attachment wounds, I can also help with distress in everyday circumstances using a developmental needs based intervention called DNMS.
I value self-determination above all else in the work that I do. I believe that change comes most readily when the person making the change is motivated internally, rather than when an external motivation is imposed on them by others. Of course, life does not always work that way, but the pain that comes from the recognition that a change is needed is where I can help.
I have over 15 years experience working in various community service settings including Substance Abuse Treatment in outpatient settings and as a medical social worker for local hospitals. All of my experiences have contributed to the values and skills I use in my day to day practice with clients. I look forward to helping people and am most energized by those who are ready to walk toward an improved sense of self.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, I aim to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.

I’m glad you’re here. I have created this website to provide a place for people to read about topics in mental health that may be of interest or be a source of support for managing distress - just another platform to increase visibility of these issues and the resources that are out there for those who need it. It’s also a great place to get a sense of who I am as a provider. It can be used as a means of reaching out to me.
It’s important to remember this is not meant to be a way to communicate urgent needs or to get help in an emergency. If you are in need of urgent mental health care, you are best served calling a local crisis support hotline, such as Advocates,Inc. at 1-800-640-5432, the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255 or by going to your local emergency room.
I welcome you to browse the articles and posts on this page, and want to remind you that your privacy is of utmost importance to me. Please feel free to message me privately with any questions or if you wish to schedule an appointment with me.
Take care and stay well - Amanda
